My Son

My son today found his favorite chill spot in the house. He usually gets in my way while I am in the kitchen doing anything so needless to say, I was alittle suprised when not only my son wasn't under my feet but I didn't even hear a peep. This is how I found him.

This is the view from our backyard at sunset....

Our Weekend

We started our weekend friday evening when we went to Sam's Club and got hot dogs and flooring and gas...not in that order and not the gas that you think....the stuff for the car. LOL. After our adventure, I got to go play Bunco at the neighbor's home. There are several girls who get together every month and have a girls night. I think it's always Bunco. I got one of the booby prizes for my bad score. I am awesome!!! After the game, I stayed and talked with some friends for a long time. It's really night to have people to relate to!!!

When I got home at 11pm, Eric was painting, so I stayed up and painted with him till 2am. We finished painting our room and put our bed back together(no more sleeping on the couch WOOHOO!). I just have to say, what we have so far looks GOOD!!! I will take pictures of it after it is done being decorated. I think we finally got to bed at about three.

We were woken up at 8:30 by Baeya trying to find us downstairs. I hear this "MOMMY!!!!" along with a terrified screaming and crying. Yes folks, she actually likes me! Shocking but true.

At 10:30 Eric left and got instructed on how to install carpet on stairs. At 11:30 we went to Johnny Corino's for lunch with Eric's work for a "New Comers" welcoming. BTW Anyone who comes to visit us just might end up eating there one night! :D At 1pm we went to the Verizon store and signed up for the discounts Eric gets through his work...really nice!!!! BUT it took almost two hours there....the kids were just gems......LOL I THINK THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING I EVER TYPED!!! Baeya almost died right there in the Verizon store! And Ethan was just exhausted. THEN Eric decides we need to run to Lowe's to pick up some supplies for the stairs.

When we walked into the store it was BARELY snowing. When we walked out 45 minutes later, we had TWO INCHES of fresh snow on our car!!! That makes a total of like 4 or 5 inches this week!!! Luckily it has all promptly melted...Yeah there is really weird weather here in IF!

When we got home, the kids went down for a nap and Eric went to go pick up a futon we bought for $40 on craigslist.com. It's actually in really good condition too! He was gone for about an hour and a half looking for a rental store for a carpet nail gun. I can't believe how many TYPES of nail guns there are! It's mind bottling...yes I said it...mind bottling.

When he got back, I left and got my hair done...and ha ha ha...this is what it was all leading up to...I LOVE MY HAIR!!!! Dina did a GREAT job!!! If anyone needs to go to anyone for hair....GO TO HER!!! I think this is the darkest I have ever gone! So, what do you think?

Relief Society Dinner

Last night my ward had their RS birthday dinner. we had a progressive dinner and a type of readers theater. The characters in the program were all former general RS presidents in church history. I was asked to play Emma Hale Smith, the Prophet Joseph's wife. I had the opportunity to investigate her a little. She was such a strong, remarkable woman. She suffered so much loss in her life and still remained strong. I admire her for her faith and perseverance (sp). She lost most of the children she gave birth to , almost lost her own life after the birth of her first child, and ultimately lost her husband in a brutal murder.
But in all of this time she was always concerned for the welfare of others. She was a compassionate, loving, hard working woman. One could only hope to be like she. She was loved dearly by those she came in contact with.

A Pretty Good Day

Today was all in all a good day. My son lost my phone last night and I am pretty sure it landed in his new favorite toy, the garbage. So we spent all morning searching for it but to no avail. I guess it is probably my fault for letting him play with it in the first place. After putting Ethan down for his morning nap, I started a load of laundry...there is ALWAYS laundry!!! I can never seem to catch up.

The kids and I went and did some errands. We drove across town (a total of 10 minutes) to the credit union that does shared branching with Spokane Teachers to make a deposit. There was no one at the bank so Baeya and Ethan got to eat up all the attention. After there we ran to Once Upon a Child to grab a high chair for Ethan. I decided Ethan needed one since we have more room for one now. We have had a booster chair but it is on one of my new dinning room chairs...and I don't like the fact that MY chair gets messy EVERY TIME Ethan sits down to eat. Anyway, I also looked around the store and found Bayea and Ethan's Easter outfits. I was so excited!

We then left the store and went on a walk since it was a blistering 36 degrees out! We walked to lunch and had fun sitting in the restaurant watching the employees and customers. Baeya is getting old enough now to go potty on her own. She told me this afternoon that she had to go. I had Ethan with me and I didn't want to leave everything on the table so I showed her where the potty was and she went all by herself. I am such a proud mother!!!

By the time we got home from our adventure it was time for a nap, so the kids went down and I got to fold some blankets that were waiting for me to do so. As soon as I got to the last blanket, something in my back POPPED and I have been in pain ever since. Not BAD pain, more of a stiff achy pain. My muscles are really tight. Now everytime I move my entire upper body pops.

When Eric got home at 6pm, we went out and got a Sam's Club membership. Eric's a little anxious to buy a TV, so we went there and we had to go to Lowe's to return the mailbox we got that was apparently the wrong type(LONG story about that). He got one that is suppose to work....we'll see....gggrrrrr...

That was basically our day. Not very eventful...oh well.

Our family Update

Our Ethan is walking. He decided last week that it was pretty cool to walk. I was working on my email when I looked up and he was walking across the floor. He stopped and gave me a "Check me out" cheesy grin and continued walking. He just needed to decide for himself that it was time. We are all so proud, but mostly he his proud of himself.

The other night we had done our nighttime routine and Baeya was saying the prayer and right after she opened her prayer she passed gas...a REALLY loud one. She got to laughing so hard she couldn't finish her prayer. Even though it was a "rude" thing to do, the entire situation was really cute.

This week is better so far. Eric is still relectant to help out. I think it has alot to do with the television because when we didn't have it in Moscow, Eric was more willing to help. I think we are going to have to start making rules about it.

Wits End

I think I am at my wits end! For the last few days I have had to be the only adult in my home. Eric has been home from work with the flu! I understand that when you are sick there isn't much you can do, but when he gets sick it's like I have not only Baeya and Ethan to take care of but when Eric gets sick it's like adding on three more kids!!! I have been stretched to my limit! I feel like there just isn't enough time in the day to do all that I need to. If you notice, most of my entries are in the wee hours of the morning. I a typical day I: cook, clean, wipe noses, cook three meals a day, make snacks, do laundry, pay bills, run errands, resolve diagreements, do laundry, change diapers, give baths, take out the garbage, entertain the kids, etc. Plus according to many women I know, I am required to do all this with a smile. Those who know me know that that's just not happening. The sad thing is; I go to bed at 4am and wake up at eight and do it all over again. My job is never done!!! And again with Eric being sick, I have no support. I have been doing everything myself and frankly these last few days I have been lacking.

Today I think was the last straw. For those of you who don't know, I have chronic back problems. And it gets worse with stress. So today I was in tears with pain. Luckily, I had something I could take, and everyone was asleep so I had ALITTLE quiet time.

There are things I would like to do, like paint and decorate my room, or work on the basement, but when the kids go down I have to clean up after them and get the things done that didn't get done while the kids needed to be taken care of. Then it doesn't even look like anything was cleaned 15minutes after the kids wake up.

I think all I need is a maid and a nanny and I would be happy, right? :D

Pizza Bites

This is a VERY RECENT family favorite of ours!

1 package Rhodes Rolls
1 package Favorite meat pizza topping
Mozzerella Cheese-shredded or cubed

Take Rolls out of package and let rise for 4 hours. Flatten 1 dough ball and put two slices of topping and 1 cube of cheese in center. Pinch closed and place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 min. Yields about 36

We like to use ham or pepperoni. Try both. You could even use some sandwich meats and cheese to have some type of melt.

Use any kind of dipping sauce to make then EVEN BETTER!!!

BTW: These freeze GREAT!

I'm so proud of myself

So I want grocery shopping tonight and bought all our food for the month. Including all the supplies I needed (freezer bags and stuff) I only spent $176 dollars! FOR THE MONTH!!! I am so stoked! I think that this is really going to work! I already started making the meals and right now I have over a weeks worth of meals and I only spent about the same time I would have in the kitchen making one nice meal! That's alot of time I now have to spent with my family instead of in the kitchen! There are alot of things that I am going to be making that Eric can also use as lunches! He's already using the burritos and pizza poppers (I'll get that recipe on here soon!!!) I am going to make Chicken Wraps that he can heat up too! There are also last minute meals like chicken nuggets! This is going to be nice too in the summer, I won't have to spend a ton of time over a hot stove in the summer months!!! LOTS OF POSITIVES!!!

My Beautiful Baeya

We were playing with the camera today and taking pictures with natural light. I wanted to take pictures of Ethan too, but he's just too busy to sit still! She is just amazingly beautiful!

I don't know why, but today was just so BAD!!! To start off, I was just in a mood today! i don't know why, I'm not suppose to start anytime soon...so that can't be it...and NO I am not pregnant! I was just on edge all morning! I yelled at Eric because he wanted me to pick up the unpacking mess we had made the night before and I had not even begun to get ready for chirch yet. He made a couple of comments in the midst of all of this that just made me SNAP! I won't tell you what I said to protect the innocent. At church today; Baeya and Ethan were TERRORS!! Ethan doesn't know how to be quiet for the life of him, so I spent ALL of sacrement meeting in the hall with him. I don't know if it's the new area we are in or what but Baeya is going through a phase of "I don't want to go to Sunbeams!" and throws a tantrum! She too was a pill at church. I just don't know what to do about these kids.
don't get me wrong I love my kids, but I don't think I have a time away from them since Eric and I came back from California. That's over 6 months! I guess I just have a problem asking people to watch my kids. Not that I'm not trusting, I just don't want to put anyone out. I think it stems from me being my family's designated babysitter for so long and I hate that "People" "assume" that we are going to ask them to sit with the kids, so we just don't go out.
I could go out by myself but now I feel guilty leaving Eric with the kids because he has such a hard shift. He wakes at 4am and gets home at 6pm. It's hard.
